It is impossible to keep an blog with the militaria theme, and do not talk about what the world is living today.
Even being talking most of the time of poetry and "beatiful" aspects from the battlefield and from the weapons in self there must be some "valid information" around here.
The world of the Defense Industry and Defense Politics have stopped to watch over the Brazilian decision about buying 36 fighter aircraft... so now what the hell this global move means?
Well, in first place we need to take a closer look to the world and realize that, this is not a global move, the world has not stopped just to watch the brazilian decision, but, there is a lot of preoccupation about the brazilian choice...
There are 3 possibilities with clear political messages behind them all:
1 - American F/A-18 E/F Super Hornet, means a clear path to alignment with the US politics, that would mean a terrible problem in our local politics, and the US concerns about the South America and Brazil are... Well... We can have some doubts.
2 - Swedish JAS 39 Gripen, the fully independent choice, with there was no american technology over the fighter, that makes an incomplete way to discover and acquire the technology over a fighter aircraft... So the swedish option does not means independence...
3 - French Dassault Rafale, the we meet the demon or the angel in this hell... The French government is doing whatever they can to sell us not only the RAFALE, but whatever they have in their "armory" to sell!
Political issues put the French option as a good option because they are not fully alignment to the US or even to the rest of Europe... But... Is it really safe?
The big point is, the world is looking to us? The answer is YES, and why? Because this "minimal" choice for a Fighter Aircraft, may mean much more than the eyes can meet...
Let's see what the future will show!
